Shore Station

I was lucky enough to buy this hall tree from my friend Tami. (thanks Tam!) While painting it I realized the old wood grain was grabbing the paint in a spotty but cool way. the close up is a better representation of the color.   I think it would be awesome in a beach house, or your house! Put your anorak on a hook and your Hunter boots below.  It measures 36 "wide and 80" tall with the original hand forged hooks, mirror and umbrella drip tray.

Princess Chalkboard -SOLD

It is really the only way to describe this piece.  The pink frame has a beautiful gold peeking through highlighting the intricate carved details.  Sure it screams girls room but I think it would be beautiful in a dining room as well.

It's Here! Chalk Paint for all!

My first shipment of Webster's Chalk Paint Powder just arrived today!  I have used several brands and many types of paint.  I really like using chalk paint which eliminates the need for most surface preparation but found it very expensive and the colors limiting. I was also concerned about the toxicity of some brands. Then I came upon Websters.   This all-natural powder is added to any paint to create a smooth easy to use chalk paint finish. It is much more economical and I can use any color I want, including paint I already have!  Because you can mix as little as a cup at a time you can even use those sample jars available everywhere.  Get yours at Estrella the gift store at Five Star in Rocklin, CA  916-315-0555.

Farm Table

I picture this solid oak table as it was probably used in days gone by, rolling out biscuits, or just a gathering of the family for a simple supper. There are three brass pull drawers in the apron of the table and two secret compartments built in behind them. The legs have a white distressed finish and the top has a vintage natural oak stain warn around the original beveled edges.

I never actually got caught so I did not have to write this on the classroom blackboard.  If I had this cutie though, I think I may have actually enjoyed it. The bright teal color with gold accents is a winning combination.

Napoleon said..

"A picture is worth a thousand words"  If he did indeed say that, he may have been talking about this chair.  The very sturdy and stately Napoleon style chair sports a white washed finish with just enough of the pine color showing through. The ample seat is covered in a natural linen fabric.

Shuttered

I found these beautiful full size shutters and thought them make the perfect backdrop in any room.

I placed one in a corner and it instantly upgraded the whole feeling of the room.  One is a Florentine blue wash and the other a Provincial grey. They can be used  functionally to cover a window or as a memo board with tiny clothespins.

Kitchen Table

This table reminds me of one my grandfather had in the basement. It was the kids table for coloring, eating pasta and other kid activities. This charming specimen has all the same charm with scalloped edges, turned legs and the small distress marks of many year of usefulness.  It is white and has a waxed finish. 40Lx3W1x30H

I'm sure my French terminology is all wrong but the picture says it all. This nightstand/end table  is so precious she should be called Cosette. ( Can you tell my sister dragged me to see Le Mis?) The blue/green color is a  perfect complement to the beautiful original french provincial pulls.
